Plant properties

Cane limpkin is large creeper to reach more than 10 meters in length to grow in forest edge that the sun of mountainous district and the shore has good. Leaf is 15-25 centimeters in length, and there is cirrus on the tip. Flowers crowd with ear form and bloom for from May to June. Fruit is red with sphere. Distribution northern limit grows in Yoron Island, Okinawa group of islands, last island group of islands in Tokunoshima and is distributed over India, Malaysia, Polynesia from Taiwan, the southern part of China. Point of leaf becomes cirrus and coils ourselves around other plants. We still use cane limpkin for base of tiled roof in traditional construction method to keep scenery of house of beautiful red cement tile in Taketomijima. We use for crown which roe deer is covered with in the case of Shinto ritual in kyukoshima.
